APANO is currently looking for a Community Wellness Worker in Chapleau.

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Health, Human Services, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and community life is essential.
• Experience in community-based program delivery and family support services.
• Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required.
• Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector screening required (cost reimbursed by APANO)
• Knowledge of an Indigenous language is valued.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and coordinate culturally-based healing and wellness programs.
• Support families and individuals in crisis, including referrals and follow-up services.
• Organize community events, workshops, and public education sessions on topics such as positive parenting, cultural awareness, and addiction prevention.
• Collaborate with Elders, knowledge keepers, and other community organizations to enhance programming.
• Provide crisis intervention and first-response support when needed.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and participate in program evaluations.
